The Editorial Collective of MechEcology diverges from traditional hierarchical practices. At its center is not a conventional figure of authority but a guiding role that emphasizes discernment and care. This role does not act as a gatekeeper, but as one who selects works that align with MechEcology’s ethos, choosing in the spirit of thoughtful selection rather than authority, and presenting contributions in ways that sustain its ecological and reflective vision.

Hyunghun Kim
Hyunghun Kim is a gastroenterologist and founder of Intermed Clinic in Seoul. He trained in internal medicine at Samsung Medical Center and served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He also completed an online bachelor's degree program in law.
His career has included work in clinical medicine, public health, and the pharmaceutical industry. He participated in a clinical pharmacology program at Seoul National University and worked as a medical manager at Allergan Korea. After completing fellowship training in gastroenterology, he held visiting scholar appointments at the National Center for Global Health and Medicine in Tokyo and at Kobe University, and later served on the staff of Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, College of Medicine, The Catholic University of Korea. He holds two granted U.S. patents related to medical devices and has authored publications in internal medicine and gastrointestinal endoscopy.
He has a longstanding interest in AI governance and the coexistence of humans, AI, and robots. Since 2022, he has used MechEcology as a framework for thinking and writing about these topics.
